Outdoor cooking!

Its hot and sometimes a bit uncomfortable this summer - everyone knows there's heatwaves in the UK, thankfully Scotland has had nothing like the tempetatures recorded further south in England or Europe. But some of these big old lodge and estate houses really are not built for this weather, the aga's are still firing away and the heat is trapped inside with nowhere to go.
So its been a relief to do a bit of outdoor cooking for a change! Using real charcoal or wood to cook really adds an extra dimension to the meals, and as the guy doing the cooking, its very nice to spend a little time outside too!!
These pictures are from a Greek style barbecue we did, the scottish lamb cutlets are marinated in harrissa spices, the chicken kebabs are souvlaki style. These were joined at the table by marinated langoustines, tabbouleh, grilled feta and aubergine, houmous, babaganoush, toasted pita chips, garden leaves and tomato and dill salad.
