Looking for fish on the NC500

Inevitably when guests come up to Scotland, they're looking for some authentic Scottish food and drink. One of Scotlands biggest exports, after whisky, is its seafood. Lobsters, langoustine, scallops, mussels, clams, oysters... all tasting particulatly good because the waters here are, quite simply, so cold. 

Its fairly rural once you get north of Perth, let alone when you head to Sutherland or Caithness, and so Scottish Relish always has to consider where we can get the freshest, best seafood.

Thankfully there is a network of 'fish vans' that bring the catch from the harbour all over northern Scotland and the Highlands, on a weekly schedule. So whilst waiting for the fish van the other day on the NC500 (Often described as 'Scotland's

Route 66', the North Coast 500 is a 516-mile scenic driving route around the north of Scotland) I went for a little walk, and discovered this gem of a beach near Bettyhill, Sutherland
